Jorge Escompani is a master of Shiringa, a type of tree that produces natural latex. The tradition of working with the tree requires great passion and environmental awareness. The rubber boom of the late 19th century led to the deaths of thousands of Indigenous Peoples, a period driven by what was known as “rubber fever.”
About Oscar Akamine:
Oscar Akamine is an audiovisual documentary filmmaker and photographer. He was born in Peru and has Japanese origins. Oscar graduated as a Sound Engineering Technician from George Brown College, where he was a student in the Video Design & Production program.
