In the middle of the pandemic, an arts worker goes back to school after 34 years. There, he pulls together a university community arts group to produce a tragicomic cartoon: “The ABCs of Anxiety.”
Armed with an original A-Z poem, 26 bizarre character illustrations and a $1,500 wellness grant, the “York U Group of 12” works virtually, battling Wi-Fi demons and academic deadlines to emerge with a two-minute, 2D tour de force.
About Brian G. Smith:
Brian G. Smith is an award-winning alumnus of The Second City in Toronto. At the Centre for Social Innovation, Brian leads Annex Improv, his own brand of communications training that incorporates professional with interpersonal skills development. He is also director of You and Media, a creative production company in Toronto that specializes in comedy. The company has produced award-winning short films, web series and podcasts. Currently Brian is an M.A. candidate in Interdisciplinary Studies at York University.
