Jane Jankovic, TVO’s Executive Producer for Documentaries, is one of three judges on TVO Today’s Short Doc Contest panel this year. She explains what the judges will be looking for as they try to decide on who will win the contest.

Jane’s tips:

  • Judges will be looking for stories that make them care about an issue, the people, and location
  • Try to structure your short documentary to grab your audience’s attention
  • And you want to end up somewhere different than where you started

You can view past entrants at TVO.org.
